About us

Hawksyard Priory is a privately owned care home situated on the outskirts of the Staffordshire village of Armitage. The home is a former Dominican Priory and is set in large grounds.

The Home is registered with the Care Quality Commission for up to 106 elderly service users to provide both nursing and personal care to service users including those with mental health care issues.

Access to the home is via a private road off Armitage Road. A regular bus service stops at the end of the drive and all shops and community facilities are available in the village.

Accommodation is provided on three floors. We have a range of single and twin bedded rooms available, with the majority having en-suite facilities. All new rooms are equipped with televisions and telephone points with intrernet access. The ground floor (34 beds) and first floor (36 beds) offer accommodation for service users with either or both personal and nursing care needs. The top floor (36 beds) offers accommodation for service users with nursing mental healthcare needs.

Separate lounges and dining facilities are provided on each floor. Hairdressing and smoking facilities are also provided for service users. A large church is also part of the building and service users are always welcome at the Sunday communion service.

We provide a high standard onsite laundry service and a daily menu of home cooked meals from our large modern kitchen. Activities, hobbies and entertainment all take place on a regular basis under the control of our team of diversional therapists. Transport can be provided when required for external events. Families and friends are encouraged to take part in activities and trips out.

Qualified nurses and teams of care assistants provide care. Community nurses and NHS facilities are also available. A local GP practice and pharmacy support the Home.
